The Drama Ministry presents several large productions each year, including a summer dinner theatre, a fall youth musical, and a Christmas production. In addition, this ministry presents short dramas in weekend worship services, in conferences, and other church services and events.

Children of Eden

It’s back to the beginning, musically speaking as the Youth Drama Team at Savannah Christian Church presents “Children of Eden” on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 24-26.

From Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked,” “Godspell,” and “Pippin”) and John Caird of “Les Misérables” comes a joyous and inspirational musical.

Based on the first nine chapters of Genesis, “Children of Eden” uses storytelling techniques and a beautiful musical score to offer a heartfelt and often humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children.

The Drama Ministry meets weekly on Tuesday evenings, and you're welcome to join at any time.

You can get involved in many ways:

Actors

  • Drama Team - All Welcome! No Auditions required- Meets weekly- Tuesday nights 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. (worship series dramas and special events)

  • SCC Productions - Auditions required: production specific (Summer Dinner Theater, Youth Production, Christmas and Easter)

Production Teams (some volunteer positions ongoing)

  • Running Crew (production specific/ aka: men in black)

  • Set Team
    Manager (oversee Set Team)
    Designers (artists, architects, landscapers)
    Decorators (painters, artists, decorators)
    Construction (building)
    Set Strike Team (set removal)

  • Costume Team
    Manager (oversee costume team/ongoing and production specific)
    Dressers/Changers (assists Costume Manager and actors/production specific)
    Sewing Team (works with Costume Manager and Drama Director/ongoing and production specific)
    Costume Room Manager (organizational skills/self motivated/ flexible schedule/ongoing)

  • Props Team
    Manager (oversee Props Team/procure props needed, usage and return)
    Resourcers (assist Props Manager to locate, procure and return props)
    Props Room Manager (organizational skills /self motivated/ flexible schedule/ongoing)

  • Hair and Make-up Team
    Stylists (professionals not required)
    Make-up artists (professionals not required)

  • Front of House
    Manager (oversee box office and will call tickets/ production specific) 

  • Green Room Hosts (assist stage managers and actors, hospitality, supervising)
